Overview
The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is offering a M.Tech course in
Communication Engineering. The program is approved by AICTE, government of Kerala and is
affiliated to M.G University, Kerala
In the present scenario of Information & Communication Technology, Communication
Engineering is of vital importance for any society. The communication revolution has led the
whole world being global village concept. The prominent domains covered in this programme
are Advanced Digital Communication, High Performance Communication Networks, High
Frequency Circuit Design, Advanced Digital Signal Processing, Wireless Communication,
Photonics, Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits, Antenna Theory & Design etc. Mathematical
base being extremely essential, subjects like Linear Algebra, Probability and Random processes
form a part of the curriculum.

The number of students admitted each year is 18. The four semesters (2 years) programme is
based on the credit system. The programme comprises of several core and elective courses,
seminars and project work.
Research Areas: Students are motivated to participate in research projects in the areas of, but not
limited to: wired and wireless communication, Smart antennas, Signal Processing, Image, Video
and speech processing.
