Overview
Department of Mechanical Engineering started the first M.Tech course in Mangalam College of Engineering namely Industrial Engineering and Management in the year 2010 with an yearly intake of 18 students. It embodies to act as a repository of knowledge and practices covering the broad domain of Industrial Engineering and management sciences and to nurture the students by way of teaching, research and industrial entrepreneurship. Some of the objectives are:

Impart quality education and research guidance to prepare students employable with world class standard.

Interact with industries through consultancy services for real life problem solving in addition to the compulsory industrial training.

Enhance the analytical skill and problem solving ability of the students through innovative design and conduct of teaching, laboratory experiments, case studies, seminars and colloquium With the purpose of giving quality education, post graduate students are provided with multimedia class rooms, specialised computing facility and access to department libraries other than central library. Well experienced and dedicated faculty members orient the students in the right direction Academic projects are another milestone where students are technically challenged during the implementation and evaluation. Department also promote post graduate research through various research groups such as: Operations Research Industrial Safety and Relations
